The 9th National Conference on Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Convened at XMU

On November 19th, the Ninth National Conference on Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which was organized by the Ministry of Education and hosted by our university, was officially opened at the Center for Science and Art with the theme of Creation, Endlessness, Expectation and Future. Representatives from University of Ulsan and more than 300 domestic universities including universities from Macau attended the conference. Participants also include representatives of the Ministry of Education, local education authorities, the National University Students Innovative Entrepreneurship Training Program, the Collaborative Group, MOE Education Teaching and Guidance Sub-committee of Innovative Methods, experts, enterprises, and the media, etc. Around 1,500 people were present at the grand gathering.

  

Zhang Yan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the CPC, XMU, Zhang Daliang, Director of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, Xue Weimin, Vice Chairman of CPPCC of Fujian Province, and Li Zhiyi, President of the Shenyang University of Chemical Technology and Leader of the National Innovation Project Expert Group attended the opening ceremony and inaugurated the conference. The opening ceremony was presided over by Vice President Wu Daguang.

  

During the annual meeting, a series of innovation and entrepreneurship activities kicked off, including the Annual Academic Conference on Undergraduate Innovation , the Exhibition ofUndergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Projects, the Roadshow of Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Projects, the First Final Contest of Undergraduate Innovative Application, the Seminar on Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Programs for local Educational Departments, University-enterprise Forums, etc. Among them, the Annual Academic Conference on Undergraduate Innovation had 10 parallel sessions, in accordance with different disciplines. Each project introduced itself first, followed by answering questions from their peers, and concluded with expert comments. Each session voted two excellent papers and recommended a paper to give a report. This is the first time we held innovative application contest to encourage teachers and students to put innovative methods into practice.
